Kiser Group Builds Momentum in Seniors Housing with Appointment of Industry Veteran Brooks Barton

Firm continues expansion of relationship-driven advisory team serving seniors housing owners, operators and institutional investors nationwide

CHICAGO — Kiser Group today announced that industry veteran Brooks Barton has joined the firm’s Seniors Housing team as Director, further strengthening its relationship-driven advisory practice serving seniors housing owners, operators and investors nationwide.

Barton’s addition reflects Kiser Group’s continued investment in redefining seniors housing brokerage through a relationship-driven advisory model that combines institutional-caliber expertise with personalized execution. With more than 30 years of seniors housing experience and over $12 billion in completed transactions, Kiser Group’s Seniors Housing team advises owners and operators, family offices, REITs, private equity firms, and institutional investors throughout the investment lifecycle.

Rather than focusing solely on transactions, Kiser Group’s Seniors Housing team partners with clients to evaluate opportunities, navigate change and make informed investment decisions long before a property comes to market—helping unlock greater value through strategic advisory, market positioning and relationship-driven execution.

Barton brings more than 20 years of experience spanning seniors housing operations, asset management and institutional real estate investment. His background provides a unique perspective on the operational, financial and strategic drivers that shape value creation across independent living, assisted living, memory care and long-term care communities.

Prior to joining Kiser Group, Barton served as Vice President of Investments for Seniors Housing and Long-Term Care at American Healthcare REIT, where he was integral in the evaluation of investments, assessment of operator performance, and the development of the firm’s seniors housing platform, underwriting processes, and transaction negotiations. His career also includes regional operational and sales leadership roles, giving him firsthand experience from the perspectives of owners and operators.  Combined with his tenure in investments, he has seen multiple perspectives within the industry.

“Too often, owners and investors feel like they have to choose between the sophistication and resources of a large institutional brokerage and the responsiveness and personal attention of a smaller local firm,” said Lee Kiser, Principal of Kiser Group. “We’ve built Kiser Group Seniors Housing to fill that gap. We combine institutional experience, market insight and strategic thinking with a hands-on, nimble and relationship-focused approach that keeps our clients’ objectives at the center of every engagement. Brooks strengthens that commitment. His experience across operations, institutional investment and asset management allows us to bring even greater perspective and value to the clients we serve.”

“”Kiser Group has built a platform that aligns with where the seniors housing industry is headed,” Barton said. “The emphasis on long-term relationships, strategic advisory and helping clients make smarter investment decisions creates a different experience than traditional brokerage. I’m excited to join a team that is focused on creating lasting value for owners, operators and investors.”

The addition of Barton represents another step in Kiser Group’s long-term commitment to building a differentiated seniors housing practice that helps clients navigate acquisitions, dispositions, recapitalizations, portfolio strategy and growth opportunities with greater confidence and clarity.
