Analyst Spotlight: Q&A with Ethan Stratman

Kiser Group is proud to spotlight Ethan Stratman, an Analyst supporting the firm’s Seniors Housing division. Ethan plays a key role in financial analysis, underwriting, and market research, helping clients evaluate investment opportunities nationwide.

Q: What drew you to Kiser Group?
Ethan: I was attracted to Kiser Group’s reputation for expertise and collaboration. The Seniors Housing division, in particular, provides the opportunity to work on a national scale and learn from some of the most experienced brokers in the space. The culture here encourages growth and hands-on learning, which really stood out to me.

Q: Can you describe your role and what you focus on day to day?
Ethan: I support the Seniors Housing division by building financial models, analyzing comparable properties, and conducting market research. I also assist with preparing marketing materials and maintaining data that drives our strategic decision-making. Working closely with Mark Myers has given me invaluable exposure to how deals are structured and executed.

Q: What have you learned so far about the seniors housing sector?
Ethan: It’s an incredibly nuanced and relationship-driven industry. Every property and market tells a different story — from independent and assisted living to memory care and skilled nursing. I’ve learned how demographic shifts and operational dynamics play major roles in determining value, and I find that complexity both challenging and exciting. What also stands out to me is how unique each state is when it comes to seniors housing — with different regulations, licensing requirements, and Medicaid reimbursement rates that can dramatically impact operations and investment strategy.

Q: What are you most looking forward to as you continue your career at Kiser Group?
Ethan: I’m eager to continue learning from our team and expanding my understanding of the national seniors housing landscape. Ultimately, I want to help clients make informed decisions that benefit both their investment goals and the residents these communities serve.

Q: When you’re not working, how do you like to spend your time?
Ethan: I love staying active — I run regularly and enjoy playing pickleball with friends. I also like exploring new parts of Chicago and spending time with my family back in Wisconsin.
